I'll be honest with you: I have no clue how old this large, envelope clutch-style handbag is. I assume it is from the 1970's, but it could be even older. There isn't any tag or label inside or out to help identify the era, but it feels both 1940's AND 1970's, if you know what I mean. The snap hardware feels older to me, though, but the styling...It's just so hard to know. I'm also not sure about the exterior fabrication, so, best guesstimates here.
This was gifted to me years ago. I thought I'd actually use it and never, ever did.
The leather-look flap and side gussets are an oxblood red color, which looks lovely against the stiffer beige/oatmeal, woven jute fabric. (I think it's jute? Jute-like.) Interior is fully-lined in a pinky/beige grosgrain fabric. One zippered interior pocket. Photos show with and without a flash.
Bottom of front metal snap decoration is weathered and aged from previous owners use. See photo.
