Here on offer is a nice copy of Richard Bach's self-help novella, Jonathan Livington Seagull, which reached the top of the New York Times Bestseller list and remained there for 37 weeks. This copy is a 1st trade edition, 7th printing of the work published by Macmillan in 1970. The authentic dustjacket is protected from further wear by a Mylar sleeve.

"Jonathan Livingston Seagull, written by American author Richard Bach and illustrated by Russell Munson, is a fable in novella form about a seagull who is trying to learn about life and flight, and a homily about self-perfection. Bach wrote it as a series of short stories that were published in Flying magazine in the late 1960s. It was first published in book form in 1970, and by the end of 1972 over a million copies were in print."

"People who make their own rules when they know they're right...people who get a special pleasure out of doing something well (even if only for themselves)...people who know there's more to this whole living thing than meets the eye: they'll be with Jonathan Seagull all the way. Others may simply escape into a delightful adventure about freedom and flight. Either way it's an uncommon treat."
