These are somewhat difficult to find, and make a great addition to any collection of vintage Mexican Silver. Los Castillo is a top tier name in this area of collecting. Pieces originating from the Los Castillo taller are considered to be high quality and design forward.

"Plumaria Art" is the devopment of objects by the use of feathers. This practice can be traced back to prehistoric times including the Aztecs. The fact that Los Costillo named this technique "Pluma Azteca" is a nod to this ancient use of feathers.
In this case, feathers are dyed bright colors, and set in a resin-like material and used to fill areas which are cut from the metal. sold Much like stained glass, or Plique-à-jour enameling techniques.
