Unique Ukrainian Rushnik with Poppies Embroidered Decorative Towel with Flowers Hand sold Embroidery Stitch Needlepoint Crochet Lace
This is a very unique rushnik (traditional hand embroidered towel), made in Ukraine in 1950s. It's one of the best rushniks, which I saw in my whole life - it's so beautiful, real high art! Also, rare case, it came in perfect condition, almost like new - because was mostly just stored like a treasure.
This rushnik has a museum quality and historic value. It was made in Sumy region (Sloboda Ukraine) and has a traditional ornament of this part of the country - very colorful, sunny and kind. This rushnik has poppies as main decor (symbol of family memory) and multiflower ornament on the bottom. Also, look at the ends - you will see a wonderful crochet work with stars (symbol of cosmos, structure of the world), one sold of the best (by quality and design) which I saw on such towels.
The rushnik is very long - 2 meters. It looks great, no visible imperfections - and will be a real treasure of your home, which you will save for your children.
Enjoy this fantastic historic thing, real folk art!
Also, this is a perfect gift!
